This week we are excited to extend our welcome to our latest client: the brand-new Hilton hotel located in central Melbourne’s Little Queen Street. Marking the return of the main Hilton brand to the city, the 244-room hotel opened in March 2021 (see announcement here). Along with the other latest digital functions, it features efficient automated back-office processes powered by DocMX.
A new hotel destination powered by the latest technologies
Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street is conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne’s vibrant arts, theatre and dining precincts, on the doorstep of the city’s key business districts. The heritage building was formerly the Melbourne Equity Chambers built in 1931, renowned for its architectural style and detailing. In its reimagining, the architects respected the building’s Old World charm by restoring original features, then injecting new life with a modern six-level extension, and a new 16-level tower.
Guest rooms feature custom details that celebrate the building’s design heritage as well as Melbourne’s modern cityscapes. Amenities include an opulent restaurant and lounge bar, various meeting and event spaces, 24h-gym, a large open-air balcony with city skyline views. The spaces are imbued with Art Deco aesthetics and natural light, and are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and the latest audio-visual technology throughout the hotel.
Ensuring Covid-19 safety across the facilities
To keep staff and guests safe, the hotel implemented Hilton’s industry-defining standards of cleanliness and disinfection, in many cases powered by technology. This includes extra sanitation procedures, with the Hilton CleanStay Room Seal to ensure room cleanliness, additional cleaning of common areas and items, and flexible housekeeping options. Additionally, guests benefit from the Hilton app for communications, contactless check-in/out, and specifically designed Hilton EventReady event planning solutions.
One of the technologies leveraged by the hotel to ensure safe and efficient operations is DocMX automation technology.
DocMX for back-office automation
Opening a new hotel is the perfect opportunity to setup updated business processes: in an efficient, digital and eco-friendly way. The new team takes in new ways of working, systems and tools as part of the opening process. It is a great time to define guidelines and policies, and train the staff from the get-go. So that the hotel doesn’t just look new, but also functions like clockwork backstage.
The new Hilton Melbourne hotel is leveraging the DocMX technology to automate various finance and management functions, such as daily income auditing, accounts payable/receivable, and more. Information is easier to retrieve, there is no need to login into many different systems, a daily dashboard tells staff exactly what they need to get done: processes are clear and aligned with group policy.
This allows the hotel management to save time, reduce the burden of administrative tasks, virtually eliminate printing, and collaborate efficiently across all departments – even remotely when required. Most importantly, DocMX enables the Hilton Melbourne to benefit from the Hilton Centre of Excellence, sharing back-office resources with other Australian properties.
DocMX technology enables hotels to work in the most efficient manner, to overcome the current challenges faced by the industry and future-proof their operations. Get in touch to know more!
